Netflix multiplies reality TV shows and competitions of all kinds, some of which are particularly unusual.

Pushing the door of Netflix’s “reality TV” section is a bit like entering a small shop of television horrors, populated by (many) people who cook, others who decorate large or very small houses, polygamous Mormons, survivalists or glassblowers. A kind of rather fascinating Pandora’s box that only asks to release its contents if you open it (and to devour the time you don’t have).

The show hosted by Artus, adapted from the American format Nailed it – also available on Netflix and just as au gratin –, debuted in late 2019 on Netflix. It’s kind of the anti-Best Pastry Chef of M6, so much the competitors compete here of awkwardness. It’s ugly, it drips, sometimes even falls on the ground and often it’s just as bad. Something to relieve all the Sunday pastry chefs who miss their mold releases, make mistakes in the proportions and are unable to create a beautiful decoration on a cake. A guest (Tom Vila, Joséphine Draï…) witnesses each episode of these culinary shipwrecks.

The sentence that sums it all up: “I have the impression that we are going to enjoy ourselves, for once”

Netflix manages to interest viewers in the challenges faced by “floral sculptors”. Broadcast on the platform since May 18, The Big Flower Fight – The Big Flower Fight in English is a British competition, bringing together amateur florists from all over the world. In teams, they must make large creatures – dragonflies, unicorns, butterflies – dresses, or all kinds of floral sculptures, with a lot of chicken wire, paper mache and all kinds of plants. The atmosphere is not exactly “flower power” and the competition is fierce.
